Uses
The tools, apps, and setup I use for writing, building, and learning. It is also a record of how this website and my side projects are made.
AI assistants
- Claude Code: My main AI assistant, used from the terminal for documentation tooling, scripts, apps, and this website.
- Mistral Vibe: A second AI coding assistant, which also helped build this website.
Writing and documentation
Development
- Python: Build scripts, automation, and data analysis. This website is generated by a small Python script.
- Swift: Native macOS menu bar apps, built from the command line without opening Xcode.
- Git and GitHub: Version control for everything, documentation and this website included.
- Homebrew: The package manager I use to install and update command-line tools and apps on macOS.
- gcappkit: My own starter kit, so every new Mac app begins with the same structure, build scripts, and tests.
My own apps
- check4me: Checks my Mac’s security settings against the CIS benchmark, from the menu bar.
- resync4me: Runs my rsync backups from the menu bar.
Everyday tools
- Jira: My all-time favorite tool, at work and at home, to track everything I work on.
- Vivaldi: My web browser.
- Proton Mail: Email, hosted in Switzerland.
- Spotify: For music, podcasts, and audiobooks.
- Feedly: To follow news articles on new technologies and trends through RSS feeds.
- AlternativeTo: My favorite website to find alternatives to any software, preferably open-source ones.
This website
- Version: 1.0.1, released October 1, 2026.
- HTML and CSS: Written with Claude Code, with no framework, no cookies, and no tracking.
- Python build script: Generates the blog, the PDF CVs, and the sitemap, and checks every page and link before publishing.
